Most methods\nemploy a multiresolutional representation of animation\nand geometrical data, and adaptively change the accuracy\nlevel according to the importance of each character.\nMultilinear analysis provides the efficient representation of\nmultidimensional and multimodal data, including human\nmotion data, based on statistical data correlations. This\npaper proposes a LOD control method of motion synthesis\nwith a multilinear model. Our method first extracts a\nsmall number of principal components of motion samples\nby analyzing three-mode correlations among joints, time,\nand samples using high-order singular value decomposition.\nA new motion is synthesized by interpolating\nthe reduced components using geostatistics, where the\nprediction accuracy of the resulting motion is controlled\nby adaptively decreasing the data dimensionality. We\nintroduce a hybrid algorithm to optimize the reduction\nsize and computational time according to the distance\nfrom the camera while maintaining visual quality.
